El retrat \u201cMahmoud Ajjour, nou anys\u201d<\/strong>, de la fot\u00f2grafa palestina Samar Abu Elouf<\/strong> per The New York Times<\/em>, ha guanyat el World Press Photo de l’Any<\/strong>, el m\u00e0xim premi de l’edici\u00f3 2025<\/strong> del concurs de fotoperiodisme m\u00e9s reconegut del m\u00f3n. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

El mar\u00e7 del 2024, el nen palest\u00ed Mahmoud Ajjour va resultar greument ferit mentre fugia d’un atac israeli\u00e0 a la ciutat de Gaza<\/strong>. Quan tornava enrere per encoratjar la fam\u00edlia a continuar endavant, una explosi\u00f3 li va mutilar els bra\u00e7os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La fam\u00edlia va ser evacuada a Qatar, on, despr\u00e9s de rebre tractament m\u00e8dic, Mahmoud est\u00e0 aprenent a jugar amb el tel\u00e8fon, a escriure i a obrir portes amb els peus. El somni de Mahmoud \u00e9s rebre unes pr\u00f2tesis i viure com qualsevol altre nen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La guerra a Gaza s’ha cobrat un nombre excessivament elevat de v\u00edctimes infantils. Nacions Unides calcula que, el desembre del 2024, Gaza comptava amb el nombre m\u00e9s gran de nens amputats per c\u00e0pita de tot el m\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La fot\u00f2grafa Samar Abu Elouf<\/strong> tamb\u00e9 va ser evacuada de Gaza<\/strong>, el desembre del 2023, i actualment, resideix al mateix complex d’apartaments que Mahmoud Ajjour<\/strong>, a Doha, on ha fotografiat alguns dels pocs gazatis greument ferits que, igual que en Mahmoud, han aconseguit sortir de Gaza per rebre tractament m\u00e8dic.

La directora executiva de World Press Photo, Joumana El Zein Khoury<\/strong>, ha declarat: \u201c\u00c9s una imatge discreta que parla alt i clar. Explica la hist\u00f2ria d’un nen, per\u00f2 tamb\u00e9 d’una guerra l’impacte de la qual afectar\u00e0 diverses generacions\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A m\u00e9s, la World Press Photo Foundation ha seleccionat, per primera vegada, dos finalistes per al premi a la Foto de l’Any, que esmentem a continuaci\u00f3:<\/strong>

\u201cCreuar de nit\u201d<\/strong>, de John Moore<\/strong> (Estats Units) per a Getty Images, Es tracta d’una imatge que mostra a migrants xinesos entrant en calor sota una freda pluja despr\u00e9s de travessar la frontera entre M\u00e8xic i els Estats Units. Aquesta imatge, que sembla d’un altre m\u00f3n i alhora resulta \u00edntima, retrata les complexes realitats de la migraci\u00f3 a la frontera, que sovint es minimitzen i polititzen en el discurs p\u00fablic estatunidenc.

\u201cSequera a l’Amazones\u201d<\/strong>, de Musuk Nolte<\/strong> (Per\u00fa\/M\u00e8xic) per a Panos Pictures i Bertha Foundation. Aquesta fotografia mostra un jove que porta menjar a la seva mare, que viu a Manacapuru, a l’Amazones brasiler. Abans s’accedia al poble amb una embarcaci\u00f3, per\u00f2 a causa de la sequera ara ha de caminar dos quil\u00f2metres pel llit sec d’un riu de l’Amazones. L’impactant contrast dels escenaris des\u00e8rtics i de sequera en el major bosc tropical del m\u00f3n fa visible l’alarmant escassetat d’aigua.

La presidenta del jurat global, Lucy Conticello, directora de fotografia de M<\/em>, la revista de cap de setmana de Le Monde<\/em>, <\/strong>ha declarat: \u201cQuan el jurat global va iniciar la selecci\u00f3 dels diferents aspirants a Foto de l’Any, compt\u00e0vem amb una \u00e0mplia selecci\u00f3 de cadascuna de les sis regions. De totes les propostes, van sorgir tres temes que defineixen l’edici\u00f3 de 2025 del World Press Photo: conflicte, migraci\u00f3 i canvi clim\u00e0tic<\/strong>. Una altra manera de veure-ho \u00e9s com a hist\u00f2ries de resili\u00e8ncia, fam\u00edlia i comunitat\u00bb.<\/em>.

L’exposici\u00f3 World Press Photo a Barcelona<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

La Foto de l’Any i les dues finalistes les ha seleccionat el jurat global de World Press Photo 2025<\/strong> entre totes les fotografies guanyadores regionals<\/strong><\/a>.
