Luis era l&#8217;\u00fanic suport de la fam\u00edlia. \u00a9 Carol Guzy, ZUMA Press, iWitness, per a Miami Herald<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L&#8217;agost del 2025 en <strong>Luis va ser detingut per agents del Servei d&#8217;Immigraci\u00f3 i Control de Duanes<\/strong> (ICE, per les sigles en angl\u00e8s) despr\u00e9s d&#8217;una audi\u00e8ncia al tribunal d&#8217;immigraci\u00f3 celebrada a l&#8217;edifici federal Jacob K. Javits, a la ciutat de Nova York. En Luis, un migrant equatori\u00e0 que, segons la fam\u00edlia, no t\u00e9 antecedents penals, era l&#8217;\u00fanic suport de la fam\u00edlia. En conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncia, la seva dona, la Cocha, i els seus tres fills (de set, tretze i quinze anys) van enfrontar dificultats econ\u00f2miques immediates ia un profund trauma emocional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despr\u00e9s d&#8217;una ordre executiva del gener del 2025, <strong>l&#8217;ICE va revocar les proteccions per a \u00abllocs sensibles\u00bb, autoritzant arrestos a escoles, hospitals i jutjats<\/strong>. El que Carol Guzy ha documentat no \u00e9s un cas a\u00efllat, sin\u00f3 una pol\u00edtica aplicada indiscriminadament a persones que paradoxalment complien les normes dictades per l&#8217;Administraci\u00f3 que se&#8217;ls van donar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aquesta fotografia va ser seleccionada d&#8217;entre <strong>un conjunt m\u00e9s ampli de Guzy, titulat \u201cICE Arrests at New York Court\u201d<\/strong> (Arrestos de l&#8217;ICE al tribunal de Nova York), <strong>guardonat en la categoria Reportatge Gr\u00e0fic de la regi\u00f3 d&#8217;Am\u00e8rica del Nord i Central<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Carol Guzy, guanyadora del World Press Photo de l&#8217;Any<\/strong>, ha declarat: \u00ab<em>Aquest premi posa en relleu l&#8217;enorme import\u00e0ncia que t\u00e9 aquesta hist\u00f2ria a nivell mundial. Hem estat testimonis del patiment d&#8217;innombrables fam\u00edlies, per\u00f2 tamb\u00e9 de la seva dignitat i la seva fortalesa, que transcendeixen l&#8217;adversitat, la qual cosa ha estat una lli\u00e7\u00f3 d&#8217;humilitat. explicar les seves hist\u00f2ries. I, sens dubte, aquest premi els pertany, no a mi<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>La directora executiva de World Press Photo, Joumana El Zein Khoury<\/strong>, ha declarat: \u00ab<em>Aquesta imatge mostra el dolor inconsolable d&#8217;uns nens que perden el seu pare en un lloc constru\u00eft per impartir just\u00edcia. \u00c9s un testimoni cru i necessari de la separaci\u00f3 familiar provocada per les pol\u00edtiques de reforma dels Estats Units. El 2025, la fam es va apoderar de Gaza enmig del que una investigaci\u00f3 independent de la Comissi\u00f3 de Drets Humans de l&#8217;ONU va concloure que va ser un genocidi.
