The LASAL festival defends quality journalism and documentary photography, offering a space for photographers, journalists, students, documentary filmmakers, and the general public.
Within the festival, the Photographic Foundation offers a professional portfolio review space for photographers and visual artists working in the field of documentary photography. This initiative provides an opportunity to present projects, both in development and completed, to renowned professionals in the publishing, cultural, and journalistic sectors, in an environment of critical and constructive dialogue. Participating reviewers include figures associated with organizations such as La Fábrica or World Press Photo or daily newspapers as el Diari ARA and El País.
In this edition, 24 photographers will be selected to participate in an in-person portfolio review session on June 11, 2026. Each participant will have four 30-minute individual meetings and will also receive printed copies of their portfolio, produced in collaboration with Fujifilm.
This is an open call for photographers of any nationality and age, and registration is free. Submitting an application does not guarantee participation in the review sessions: all projects will be evaluated by the Photographic Social Vision Foundation, which will make the final selection. Those selected will be notified directly and will be required to pay a fee of €90 to confirm their place.
At the end of the reviews, a committee of professionals will select three projects for their quality, relevance, and potential, which will then be promoted through the festival’s channels.
This activity is part of the professional program of the second edition of LASAL, Mediterranean Festival of Journalism and Photography, and is organized by the Photographic Social Vision Foundation.
