Carles Palacio i Berta (Girona, Spain 1988). Photojournalist. After studying graphic design and working for various studios and agencies, in 2013 he studied at IEFC and focused his photography career on capturing immediate social issues and national and international conflicts. His work has been published in The New Yorker, Financial Times, The Telegraph, ElDiario.es, Internazionale, El País, The Guardian, Diari Ara, Público, El Salto, El Temps, and Revista Panenka, among others.

In 2015, he won the Young Photographers Award from the Girona Provincial Council for the project “Polvorins”, about the Les Pedreres neighborhood in Girona, and in 2016, the Girona Provincial Council and the Government of Catalonia awarded him a mention for the series “La felicitat inconscient”, about refugee minors in Perpignan. In 2023, his photo-documentary project “Els treballadors de la mar” became part of the National Archive of Catalonia.
