Gonçalo Fonseca
Gonçalo Fonseca (1993) is a documentary photographer based in Lisbon, Portugal, known for developing intimate, long-term projects. He collaborates regularly with media outlets such as The Washington Post, The New York Times, Der Spiegel or The Guardian, where he portrays events and issues relevant to his native country, on the Atlantic coast.
Throughout his career he has received numerous awards, including the Leica Oskar Barnack Award in the Newcomer category, and has been a finalist for the Community Awareness Award of the POY and the Hellerau Portrait Prize. His work has been exhibited in prominent museums and galleries in countries such as Portugal, the United Kingdom, Germany, China, South Korea, Australia or the United Arab Emirates.
