Paula González Gavilanes
Paula González Gavilanes (Mexico City, 1992) is a photojournalist and documentary photographer. Her work focuses on migration, human rights, gender issues, and the impacts of conflict and environmental change.
Through long-term documentary projects, she has reported on migration routes across Tunisia and Libya, climate change in Iraq, social movements in North Africa, and human rights issues in Mexico. Her approach combines visual storytelling with in-depth reporting, centering the experiences of the people and communities most affected by these realities.
She holds a postgraduate degree in Photojournalism and a Master’s in Communication in Armed Conflicts, Social Movements and Peace. Her work has been published in media such as The Guardian, Al Jazeera English, Middle East Eye, VICE News, El Espectador and EL PAÍS. She has collaborated with organizations including Oxfam, Hedayah and UNICEF.
