Ana Palacios
Ana Palacios (Zaragoza, 1972) is a visual journalist specialized in the comprehensive communication of projects with social impact. After fifteen years working in American film production, she radically changes her life and embarks on the path of documentary work linked to Human Rights, territory, and animals.
Since 2023, she has been a mentor in the Canon Europe Student Programme and gives talks on humanitarian photography for the brand.
In 2026 she received the Vital Impacts Fellowship. She has also been a recipient of the Emergency Fund for Journalists grants from the National Geographic Society and SOS Cultura from VEGAP, has been selected for the New York Times Portfolio Review, and nominated for the Leica Oskar Barnack Award.
Her solo exhibitions have been shown in venues such as the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, the Alliance Française of Tanzania, and the Casa delle Donne in Rome. Her work belongs to public and private collections, such as Fundación Masaveu, the Alcobendas City Council, and the Lucie Foundation.
She teaches in the PHotoESPAÑA Master’s program and in the Agencia EFE Master’s program. She is a guest lecturer at universities and training centers such as Complutense University, IEFC, Voice4Migrants, Carlos III University, the University of Salamanca, and San Pablo CEU. She serves as a jury member for international awards such as Luis Valtueña and ASISAFoto.
She is a consultant on the board of Fundación HAZ and the Association of Small and Medium Foundations (PYMEF), and a member of Women Photograph, WeAnimals Media, and Cómo Ser Fotógrafa.
She has published three books and has directed a documentary available on Filmin.
