Àngel Garcia

Àngel García is a photojournalist and collaborator of the Bloomberg agency, he focuses on documentary reports. Since 2001, he has worked in the audiovisual world. In 2007, he moved to Cambodia, where he would do more personal photographic work. Since 2013 he has been working on self-organization as a survival tool during the migration process and since 2020 he has been working with Exitus that presents a melee between a life and a death, among which is known as a successful public-private funeral model and a taboo, between non-regularization and the essentiality of a profession.

He has held various exhibitions and screenings at a national and international level, including the screening at the Off-Visa Visa pour l’Image (2008), exhibition at the MasArt Gallery, Barcelona (2009), screening at the PhotoPhnomPenh Festival, Seminar Photography and Journalism of Albarracín (2009) and OjodePez Photo Meeting, Barcelona (2010), exhibition dr. Nopo Gallery, Valencia (2010) and the Valid Foto BCN Gallery (2012), IX Xavier Miserachs Biennial (2016), Photogenic Festival (2016) and Photon Festival (2017), 155 Photos for Freedom (2018) and BCN.DOL/ 08/17/17 (2019). He has published in various media outlets (Bloomberg, PRI’s, Getty Image, Sipa Press, UPI Agency, National Geographic, TIME, New Yorker, New York Post, Der Spiegel, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, The Telegraph, Newsweek , CNBC, CNN, Huffington Post, La Vanguardia, El Periódico, El País, La Directa, etc.). Receives the CLIC scholarship for young photojournalists from Catalonia (2007), the Albarracín Photography and Journalism Seminar scholarship, Spain (2008) and the CONCA scholarship (2009), the DevReporter scholarship from the European Union (2019) and the Montserrat Prize Roig from Social Journalism (2019).
